Jami gave Eric her number at a birthday party in Waco while she was there visiting her best friend. She went home to Austin that Sunday, but kept in touch with Eric over the next few months. Christmas time rolled around and she returned to Waco again for her best friend’s company Christmas party as Eric’s date. They spent that New Year’s Eve together in San Antonio just before finding out that Jami’s company was moving their headquarters to Dallas, where Eric was living. They happily settled down in the same city and dated for the next three years.
One cozy Friday night, the pair planned a night in. As they began cooking dinner, Eric asked Jami to put a record on and when she tried to set the vinyl on the player, she spotted a diamond ring around the post in the middle of the turntable. She was stunned as Eric got down on one knee and sweetly said “Wanna get married?”
Jami studied accounting at Concordia University and now works for Jones Lang LaSalle. Eric received his degree in personal finance planning from Texas Tech University then went on to become a senior associate in acquisitions at First City Financial. The pair will host their ceremony and reception at the new Perot Museum of Nature and Science.
