I’m always up for the ultimate reader question challenge. Today, I heard from a bride who is facing an interior design dilemma. Her question:
“I am currently engaged and planning for a wedding in May. My fiancé and I are starting to talk about where we want to live and how we are going to decorate our place. We both have some furniture, but want to have kind of a fresh start with our own design aesthetic. The only problem is we have very different aesthetics – I consider my style French Country and his is more Mid-Century Modern. Long story short: it is really overwhelming finding pieces we both like that merge our styles and fit together in the overall look of our future place. SO my question is, do you know of an interior design consultant that specializes in helping newlyweds determine their decorating style?”

Former home editor, stylist, and accessories designer Janet Rice opened her interior design studio in 2009. She recently launched a cool service called Design Therapy. This consultation is ideal for newlyweds merging two different sets of furniture and design aesthetics. Janet shows up to your home, sits down with the bride- and groom-to-be and addresses any conundrums the couple may have. For example, how exactly do you mix your French Country pieces with his more modern furniture and make it a cohesive look? She’ll formulate a plan in the two-hour session ($375) and throw in a floral arrangement and gift card. Contact Janet here.
