Is Airbrush Makeup Right For Your Big Day?

dallas weddings, dallas brides, bridal dallas, weddings in dallasThanks to Jennifer “JJ” Jones and Micaela Soto at Dallas Hair and Makeup for answering this week’s reader question:

What are the pros and cons of airbrush makeup? How do you ensure makeup stays on throughout the entire night?

Most brides desire flawless skin and prefer to look like a glam version of themselves on their wedding day. The best way to achieve this is with airbrush makeup. Your makeup artist will fill a small spray gun with the perfect shade of liquid airbrush foundation. As it is sprayed onto the skin, it distributes a lightweight formula giving you a seamless finish. You will never see a line of foundation because it is applied with air rather than a brush. Airbrush makeup lasts up to 18 hours and can withstand being photographed all night. I would strongly recommend a professional applying the airbrush makeup, as they can control the amount of coverage with the pressure of the spray gun as well as formulate the perfect shade to match your skin. If not applied correctly, airbrush makeup can look cake-y. It is also not ideal for a bride who is extremely oily or has blemishes. Applying a primer to your skin will ensure your makeup with stay on throughout the entire night. The only touch up product necessary is a little loose powder applied with a powder brush to prevent shine. I always recommend a trial run before your wedding. At that time you can decide if airbrush makeup is right for you!
