How to Achieve Effortless Hair on Your Big Day

dallas weddings, dallas brides, bridal dallas, weddings in dallasThank you to Rachel Merrill from Lure Salon for answering this week’s reader question:

I don’t want to wear my hair up, but I’d like to keep my hair out of my face for my wedding. What are some trends and ideas?

Natural, bohemian-inspired hair is very popular this season. However, this “effortless” looks does require a bit of effort!

First and foremost, work on getting your hair healthy before your wedding day. Kerastase has a fabulous line of treatments that help with shine, moisture, and strength. With the added nutrients, your hair will be soft and sexy, rather than frayed and frizzy! More advice after the jump:

Loose curls are achieved with a large barrel curling iron. A one and one-fourth inch iron will give you loose waves and movement sure to last throughout your special day.

This is also a perfect time for you to incorporate something old, new, borrowed, or blue. Do you have your Grandma’s old broach or sister’s borrowed hair comb? Have fun with it! At the salon, we are doing lots of hair down and pulled to the side with a pretty accessory. Letting your hair flow on one side gives you the ability to wear your hair down and also expose a little shoulder.

Don’t forget texture. Oribe has a great texturizing spray. Using this, each piece will stand out in your hairstyle. The spray adds volume for finer hair as well. A light hairspray such as Oribe Superfine will create a lasting style that is completely touchable.

Have fun with your wedding hair! Don’t forget to boost conditioning prior to the wedding for healthy locks. Make a statement with your mane using accessories. Have fun dancing the night away.

  1. I have a wedding coming up and can’t wait to try out new styles. I mostly use pro naturals argan oil as a conditioner, heat protctor and frizz serum, it does a great job!
