Thanks to Whitney Zapffe for this week’s wedding wisdom:
“I would highly recommend taking photographs before the wedding. All of the pictures (including those of the newly married couple, wedding party, and family) can take up to two hours! Forcing your guests to wait around that long before you enter the party can be a drag. Taking pictures before also allows the photographer to spend more time with the couple and use better natural lighting. I really wanted to have the special moment where the groom sees the bride for the first time, so we cleared everyone out of the church so Preston and I could have a moment alone. We heard from so many members of our wedding party that they loved taking pictures before so they could go straight to the reception and start having fun! We also loved getting to walk down the aisle, out of the church, and immediately into our getaway car. It also gave us a chance to eat by ourselves in a private room at the reception while all the guests were arriving. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn’t have worried about the groom seeing me before the wedding and appreciate all the time we saved so we could get on the dance floor!”
