Fresh out of college in 2005, Sarah and William accepted offers with JPMorgan’s training program in New York City. They sat next to one another in their Manhattan Plaza office where they worked and bonded as friends for a year before William finally asked Sarah to dinner. They knew that night at Mesa Grill that their long-awaited date would be the first of many.
Five years later, the pair traveled to Seaside, Florida for a romantic getaway. After spending all morning on the beach, a storm began to roll in. They grabbed their things and made it to the gazebo in front of their beach house just as it started to rain. Sensing the perfect moment, William got down on one knee and asked Sarah to be his wife. The newly engaged couple spent a while under the shelter, waiting for the rain to slow and savoring the moment before heading up to their beach house hand in hand. Sarah’s parents were waiting for them when they arrived as the final surprise in William’s thoughtful engagement plan.
Sarah studied Arts in English and economics at Duke University, then went on to get her MBA from Stanford University. She is now finishing a Master of Science degree in the School of Earth Sciences at Stanford University. William received his Bachelor of Science in commerce from Washington and Lee University and is now working for RCM Capital Management in San Francisco.
The couple will marry on September 22, 2012 at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church of Dallas.
