After you meet someone for the first time and notice an instant connection, there’s always one lingering thought: how long do you wait to set up a date? This daunting question arose when Kathy Gillard met Russell Bull at a commercial shoot for her company. The morning after they exchanged business cards, Kathy ignored the “three day rule” and asked Russell out for drinks via email. As fate would have it, he simultaneously sent her an email asking the same question. After that coincidence, their happy hour meeting was a must, and from that night on, the couple was inseparable.
Their romance flourished for four years, and the love-struck duo began discussing marriage. On a December evening, Kathy purchased a wedding magazine that featured a story on engagement rings. While flipping through the pages, her eyes fixed on a 4-carat Harry Winston design. She knew the sparkly gem was out of their price range, but she decided to show her beau anyway. As she gushed about the cushion cut diamond, Russell asked, “Well, does that ring look better than this one?” Kathy’s heart fell to the floor as she realized her boyfriend had gone beyond their initial wedding conversations and already purchased a ring. Grinning from ear to ear, Russell got down on one knee and asked the love of his life to marry him.
Kathy earned a degree in Theater from Lon Morris Junior College as well a BS in Kinesiology from Sam Houston State University. She is the owner of Plan It With Me Wedding and Event Management. Russell received his Masters in Organizational Management from the University of Pheonix after he completed his undergrad in Mass Communications at Elon College. He currently works for the City of Plano. The couple has planned a romantic destination wedding in Montego Bay, Jamaica on October 11, 2012.
