Brides, get excited. I have found the holy grail of bridal beauty that will make you look phenomenal not only at your wedding but at all the events before it and the honeymoon after – eyelash extensions from Claria Nieves of LashMaxx. The price is totally do-able at $200 and while it will take about one and a half hours of your time it’s definitely worth it. You’ll look like you have mascara on at all times (the best mascara that ever was) – when you wake up in the morning, at the pool, etc. Since I got mine I haven’t had the need to wear ANY eye make-up and my eyes look big and beautiful – without looking clownish. The process is easy, especially in Nieves adorable Uptown location which feels like a relaxing spa with its serene purple and white color scheme, cozy fireplace and floor to ceiling windows hidden from the street by trees. The lashes come in various lengths so you can choose your level of drama, and they should stay on for about a month. They’ll fall out slowly as your natural eyelashes fall out (this is normal – we lose eyelashes and grow new ones all the time). But if you love them as much as I do (which you will) you can get “fills” every two to three weeks ($45/appointment) to replace the ones that are gone. That way, your eyes can continue to look fabulous on an on-going basis. LashMaxx also offers semi-permanent mascara that will stay on for a month. This is perfect for the bottom lashes in combination with extensions on the top. Seriously, do this. You absolutely won’t regret it. Oh, and don’t forget your ‘maids. This would make an incredible gift for them!
