Calling All Newly Engaged DFW Couples…

ringDid you recently get engaged? Or did a friend? Or a sister or brother? If so, e-mail me (click on my name at the end of this post) and tell me all about it. Don’t get carried away; please make it 150 words or less. Tell me who you are, how you met, where you work, how he proposed, who your attendants will be—whatever you’d like (that has to do with your engagement, of course). I’m going to start posting one engagement announcement each week on BridalBuzz. Oh, and please send a pertinent photo with your 150 words. And, may I say in advance, “Congratulations!”

  4. I did my best to cut it down:

    Guy had been secretly planning the proposal for months and on Saturday, August 8, 2009, he popped the question. Everyone (but me) was in on it and they made sure that I got my nails done and had a dress for the occasion. Guy made up a story about us having a date in Austin that I needed to wear a dress for so although I thought we were just going to run errands and have lunch, I really didn’t mind and switched from shorts and flip flops to a black and white dress with heels! Guy knows how much I love being on campus so I immediately agreed just for a chance to visit my beloved alma mater. As we were walking toward the tower, I noticed Guy getting a little nervous but didn’t think much of it. He then led me up the steps and after a few minutes turned to me and said “Nancy, I love you so much and there is no one I would rather spend the rest of my life with”. At this point I finally understood what was going on! He proceeded to get down on one knee, looked up and said “Will you marry me?” I looked down and he was getting the ring out of his pocket!!! Of course my response was “YES!” Guy said “Look over there”. I looked to see where he was pointing and it was our friend, Mack, taking pictures!!! He had captured every single moment, just like I had envisioned!
